OnyxPrivate

Private banking, conducted quietly.
The register holds four hundred names, and it does not grow.

Most banks perform banking at you — the marble, the cufflinks, the quarterly theatre. Onyx was drawn up on a different premise: that wealth managed well is managed quietly, and that the highest service a bank can render is to be unremarkable in public and exact in private. What follows is the charter every member signs.

The Charter

Five clauses.
Signed, not skimmed.

  1. Discretion precedes performance.

We publish no league tables, sponsor no boxes at the opera, and never announce a client. Returns are reported to you, in figures, and to no one else in any form.

  2. The register is fixed.

Four hundred memberships exist. None will be added. A seat opens only when a member leaves it, and it is offered — never advertised.

  3. Counsel, not product.

Onyx sells nothing. Your banker holds no targets, earns no commission, and may advise you to do nothing at all — advice we consider underrated.

  4. Terms upon invitation.

Fees, thresholds and instruments are set out in the letter of invitation, and nowhere else. If you have seen an Onyx price list, it was not ours.

  5. Departure without ceremony.

A member may close the relationship in one conversation. We ask no reason and hold no exit interview. The register simply breathes.

The Card

Engraved,
not printed.

Blackened steel, machine-turned with a guilloché unique to its bearer.
It carries no logo a stranger would recognise. Move your pointer across it.

The Desk

What a banker is for.

  1. Treasury

Multi-currency accounts settled same-day across twenty-three corridors. Rates quoted to you before the market sees your intention.

  2. Custody

Assets held segregated with two regulated custodians in separate jurisdictions. Nothing pooled, nothing lent, nothing rehypothecated.

  3. Private markets

Allocations negotiated for the register as a whole, at institutional terms a single family rarely commands.

  4. Counsel

Tax, residency and succession, coordinated by your banker with counsel already retained. You explain your affairs once.

  5. The Line

One number. Answered within four rings, at any hour, by a person who knows your file — never a queue, never a script.

The Vault

Security, stated plainly.

Keys

Signing keys are generated and kept in hardware security modules in two jurisdictions. No key has ever crossed a network, and none ever will.

Sessions

Every session is device-bound and hardware-attested. A password alone opens nothing at Onyx — including for us.

Silence

We sell no data, run no analytics on your affairs, and log what regulation requires — nothing more, retained not a day longer.

Continuity

Reserves are attested daily and audited annually by a firm you have heard of and we will not name here. That is rather the point.

Regulatory permissions, insurance and custodial detail are set out in the letter of invitation.

The Register of Requests

Request an invitation

Requests are read twice a year, in March and September.
Most are declined; all are answered. Terms are disclosed upon invitation.
