Clara Vision · Refractive Surgery · Austin, TX

The morning you wake, and simply see — no lenses, no reaching.

Bladeless, wavefront-guided LASIK with Dr. Naomi Vance, MD. Twelve seconds of laser per eye. Below is a nearsighted eye — drag it into focus and watch the acuity climb. That climb is the one we make in the suite.

The eval is genuinely free, no obligation — and about 1 in 5 people who come in aren't good candidates. If that's you, we'll say so plainly.

Refraction −4.25 D
Acuity 20/200
Clarity 8%

Live optical model · Uncorrected — this is roughly what a −4.25 myope sees unaided.

*Figures illustrative of Clara Vision clinic averages for treated low-to-moderate myopia; individual outcomes and recovery vary.

The procedure

Three steps. One of them takes
twelve seconds.

You are awake the whole time and it is genuinely quick. What follows is exactly what happens, in the order it happens — no surprises on the day.

  1. 01

    Map the eye

We measure the cornea to within a thousandth of a millimetre with Scheimpflug topography and a wavefront scan — a fingerprint of every tiny aberration in how you focus.

  2. 02

    Reshape it

A bladeless femtosecond laser lifts a thin flap; a second laser reshapes the tissue beneath in about twelve seconds per eye, guided by your wavefront map. You feel light pressure, not pain.

  3. 03

    See clearly

The flap self-seals in minutes — no stitches. Most patients notice a sharp jump in clarity within hours and are near 20/20 by the next morning. You drive yourself to the one-day check.

The surgeon

Dr. Naomi Vance,
MD

Board-certified ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained in cornea and refractive surgery. She performs every procedure at Clara Vision herself — no rotating roster, no hand-offs. The person who maps your eye is the person who treats it.

"I turn away patients every week because LASIK isn't right for their eyes. That's not lost business — that's the whole job. The surgery is easy; the judgment is the part you're paying for."

One patient

“I ride at dawn. For fifteen years the first thing I did every day was fumble for glasses that were already fogged. Two weeks after Clara, I woke up and read the clock across the room. I actually laughed. I keep an empty contact case on my desk to remind myself it's over.”
